Steelhead is for a large, originally ocean-dwelling species of Rainbow Trout that have been introduced to the Great Lakes area. Known by their iconic pink stripe and black spotted pattern, they are renowned sportfish and extremely popular targets both in rivers and in the Big Lakes.

Trout
Description
The Big Lakes and many area rivers have strong Brown Trout fisheries, and Lake Trout can be caught in all the Big Lakes and deep inland lakes. Trout can grow large, and fishing seasons range from early spring to fall.

Salmon
Description
Several Pacific Salmon species, including Chinook (“King”) Salmon and Coho Salmon, thrive in the Great Lakes and can also be found in rivers during spawning season. Salmon are great fighters AND great eating, making them a perfect species to target on charter trips.
Fishing Season: August-November Average Size: 5-15 lbs. River Charters Record: 32 lbs.
Smallmouth Bass
Description
Bass is one of the most popular freshwaters sportfish. Smallmouths can be found in the cooler deep waters of lakes and rivers, especially those with rock or gravel beds. They respond to a variety of baits and lures, and are good fighters when hooked.
Fishing Season: May-August Average Size: 2-3 lbs. River Charters Record: 6.5 lbs.
Pan Fish
Description
Pan fish, such as sunfish, perch, and crappie can be caught in a variety of waters throughout the year. They can be great fun to fish for, as they only require light tackle and are perfect targets for anglers of all experience levels. As their name suggests, they also make a great meal when fried in a pan.
